Fantastic Turn Out for Pacers Bury 5^th Annual Race

Sponsored by Glasswells, the annual race was a complete success attracting serious and fun runners from afar...

A complete contrast to last year, the sun was beaming down in pretty Nowton Park, where the start and finish line of this popular event is situated. There was a prompt 7pm start for the 120 children with a one lap fun run (however they did take it very seriously!), followed at 7.30pm with a five mile course for the adults where some 450 runners took to the start line.

Terry Glasswell started the runners off on behalf of Glasswells furniture store with a few words followed by a short peep of an old police whistle. Terry admitted to the children before the race that the last time he heard a police whistle like this he also ran a mile!

Junior under 9 boys - Harvey Williams
Junior under 9 girls - Francesca Nichols
Junior under 11 boys - Chris Williams
Junior under 11 girls - Eleanor Wright
Junior under 13 boys - Adam Seymour
Junior under 13 girls - Emma Watts
Junior under 15 boys - Jake McCarthy
Junior under 15 girls - Alice Maguire
